Vivo V60 Review: A Mid-Range Champion with a ZEISS Camera and Giant Battery
- Our in-depth vivo V60 review explores its powerful ZEISS triple camera, massive 6,500 mAh battery, and stunning 120Hz AMOLED display. Is this the best mid-range phone of the year?

Introduction: Does the Vivo V60 Redefine the Mid-Range?
The vivo V-series has consistently aimed to deliver a premium, camera-centric experience to the mid-range market, and this vivo V60 review confirms that the latest iteration carries this legacy forward with impressive new features. As the successor to the V50, the V60 arrives with a powerful ZEISS-backed triple camera system and a surprisingly massive 6,500 mAh battery, all housed within an elegant 7.53 mm frame. At first glance, vivo is sticking to its winning formula: a stylish design paired with advanced camera software. However, the key upgrade this year is the move to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a necessary performance boost to keep it competitive.
The main attraction remains the V60’s camera setup, which is borrowed directly from the X200 FE. It features a versatile 50 MP primary shooter with OIS, a 50 MP 3x optical telephoto lens, and an 8 MP ultrawide camera. For selfie enthusiasts, another 50 MP sensor with autofocus promises sharp, detailed shots. Combined with ZEISS optics and vivo’s signature Aura Ring flash, this package is clearly designed for photography lovers.
Despite its huge battery, the V60 maintains a slim profile under 8 mm and a weight of less than 200g, making it one of the most comfortable large-battery phones available. It also boasts a vibrant 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an incredible 5,000 nits peak brightness, and robust IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance. With a promise of four major Android updates, the V60 is built to last. Priced from ₹36,999, it enters a fierce competition against rivals like the OnePlus Nord 4 and Realme 15 Pro, but its unique blend of a dedicated telephoto lens and an exceptionally slim, large-battery design helps it carve out its own space.
Unboxing and First Impressions
The vivo V60 comes in a sophisticated black cardboard box with a colorful ring design on top. Inside, the phone is securely placed in a plastic cradle. Our package included a high-quality, soft plastic case that matches the phone’s color, a USB Type-C to Type-C cable, and an 90W FlashCharge adapter, which is a welcome addition. However, the inclusion of the charger may vary by region, so it’s best to confirm with your local retailer.
Design, Build Quality, and Handling
The V60 retains the signature slim, curvy design of the V-series. Measuring as thin as 7.5 mm and weighing around 192g, it feels remarkably light, especially considering it houses a 6,500 mAh Si/C battery. The phone’s rear panel is elegantly minimalist, with our Berry Purple unit looking rich and vibrant.
Interestingly, the phone’s dimensions and weight vary based on the color and material. The Mist Gray version has a plastic back and is the slimmest, while the Auspicious Gold and Moonlit Blue variants feature a glass back, making them slightly thicker and heavier. The front is protected by Schott Xensation Core tempered glass, and the middle frame is made of durable plastic. The device feels solid and premium, with an IP68/IP69 rating that protects it against high-pressure water jets and submersion up to 1.5 meters for 120 minutes.
The control layout is standard, featuring a volume rocker and power button on the right, an IR blaster on top, and a busy bottom edge with the main speaker, microphone, dual SIM tray, and Type-C port. The quad-curved display offers an immersive viewing experience, and the under-display optical fingerprint scanner is both fast and reliable.
Display: Bright, Smooth, and Vibrant
The 6.77-inch AMOLED display is a standout feature of the vivo V60. With a resolution of 1080 x 2392 pixels (around 388 ppi), the screen is perfectly sharp. In our tests, it reached an impressive 1456 nits in auto mode, ensuring excellent visibility even in direct sunlight.
The display offers a 120Hz refresh rate with three modes: Standard (60Hz), High (up to 120Hz), and Smart Switch (which intelligently balances between 90Hz and 120Hz). The High mode also includes a per-app setting, allowing you to force 120Hz in your favorite games and apps. With HDR10+ support and Widevine L1 certification, you can enjoy high-resolution content from streaming services like Netflix.
Battery Life and Charging Speed
Exceptional Endurance
The V60 is equipped with a massive 6,500 mAh battery. In our tests, it delivered an outstanding Active Use Score of nearly 16 hours, placing it among the top performers in its segment. While its overall score is similar to the V50, the V60 provides an extra half-hour of on-screen time, making it a reliable device for all-day use.
Rapid Charging
The vivo V60 supports 90W FlashCharge technology, which quickly powers up the device. In our tests, it charged slightly slower than the V50 due to its larger battery capacity, but the results were still impressive. A full charge is achieved in a time that keeps downtime to a minimum, ensuring you’re never tethered to an outlet for long.
Audio and Connectivity
The vivo V60 features a hybrid stereo speaker setup, where the earpiece serves as the second channel. The speakers achieved a “VERY GOOD” loudness score, producing clean audio, especially for vocals. While the soundstage isn’t exceptionally wide and lacks deep bass, the highs remain clear even at high volumes.
For connectivity, the device supports dual 5G SIMs, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an IR blaster. The Type-C port operates at USB 2.0 speeds. It lacks a 3.5mm audio jack and uses a virtual proximity sensor, which can occasionally be less reliable than a hardware-based one.
Software: Funtouch OS 15 with a Long Support Promise
The V60 runs Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15. Vivo guarantees 4 major Android OS updates and 6 years of security patches, offering excellent long-term value. The interface feels classic and functional, with useful features like large folders, split-screen mode, and pop-up windows.
It also comes integrated with Google’s Circle to Search and the Gemini AI assistant. Other AI features include live call translation, an AI helper in the Notes app, and AI-powered tools in the gallery for editing images. The software is clean, feature-rich, and promises a “5 years smooth experience.”
Performance and Benchmarks
The vivo V60 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a welcome upgrade from the previous generation. This octa-core processor, paired with an Adreno 722 GPU, delivers a noticeable boost in performance. Our review unit came with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, though other configurations are available. While the UFS 2.2 storage isn’t the fastest on the market, the V60 holds its own in benchmark tests, outperforming devices with older Snapdragon 7 series chips in both CPU and GPU-intensive tasks. The performance is smooth and capable for everyday use and gaming.
Camera System: A Versatile Triple-Threat with ZEISS Optics
The camera is where the vivo V60 truly shines, featuring a setup that appears identical to the one on the vivo X200 FE.
- Main Camera: 50 MP Sony IMX766, f/1.9, OIS
- Telephoto Camera: 50 MP Sony IMX882, f/2.7, OIS, 3x optical zoom
- Ultrawide Camera: 8 MP OmniVision OV08D, f/2.0
- Selfie Camera: 50 MP Samsung S5KJN1, f/2.2, Autofocus
Daylight Photo Quality
The 50 MP main camera captures excellent 12.5 MP binned photos with great detail, natural colors, and solid dynamic range. The 2x digital zoom photos are also surprisingly clean and usable. The 50 MP 3x telephoto camera is equally impressive, producing sharp and vibrant shots. It maintains great detail and contrast, making it a truly valuable addition.
The 8 MP ultrawide camera is the weakest of the three. Its photos are soft, lack fine detail, and struggle with dynamic range.
Portraits and Selfies
The V60 excels at portrait photography. Using both the main and telephoto lenses, it produces stunning portraits with accurate subject separation and beautiful background blur. The 50 MP autofocusing selfie camera is a powerhouse, delivering incredibly sharp and detailed photos with perfect skin tones, making it one of the best selfie cameras in its class.
Low-Light Performance
In low light, the main and telephoto cameras continue to perform well. The automatic night mode effectively reduces noise while preserving detail and color. Photos are bright, sharp, and look great. Even the 10x digital zoom is surprisingly usable at night. The ultrawide camera, however, struggles significantly in the dark, producing noisy and messy shots. Low-light selfies remain excellent, with plenty of detail and great skin texture.
Video Quality
The V60 can record 4K video at 30fps from its main, telephoto, and selfie cameras. The main camera’s 4K footage is solid, with good detail and colors. The telephoto camera also produces decent 4K video, although our unit seemed to have a minor focus issue. The built-in video stabilization is effective, ensuring smooth footage. Low-light video from the main and telephoto cameras is excellent, with great detail and minimal noise.

Verdict: Is the Vivo V60 Worth It?
The vivo V60 is arguably the most well-rounded phone in the V-series yet. It successfully combines a versatile and high-quality camera system—highlighted by its 50 MP telephoto lens and outstanding 50 MP selfie camera—with exceptional battery life from its 6,500 mAh cell. The display is bright and smooth, the design is slim and premium, and the IP68/IP69 rating adds valuable durability.
While there are minor drawbacks, such as the mediocre ultrawide camera and UFS 2.2 storage, they don’t overshadow the phone’s strengths. For its price, the vivo V60 offers a compelling package that excels in design, battery, and especially photography. If you’re looking for a mid-range phone that delivers a near-flagship camera experience without the flagship price, the vivo V60 is an easy recommendation.
